Applications Software Engineer – Database Focus
My client, a St. Louis based company creating sophisticated communication and data driven products in the transportation sector is looking for an application software engineer.
SCOPE OF POSITION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and test user interface software for standard products as well as custom products and administrative tools used to configure production systems.
Participate in all facets of software development following accepted object oriented design and software development practices.
Review customer requirements, change requests, bug reports, and propose application designs with consideration to the proper technology that provides the best solution.
Provide estimates and schedules for development efforts.
Write user documentation as needed.
Provide product training to Service personnel as needed.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years experience in professional software development specifically related to the development and deployment of deliverable web applications and products.
Experience with web application development including HTML, ASP.NET 2.0, C#, XML, Style Sheets JavaScript, and Microsoft IIS.
Experience with database driven application development required.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office products and Microsoft development tools required.
Some experience with Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
B.S Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered.
Number of years of professional experience required: 5 years developing HTML, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, and Microsoft IIS; 1 year developing with C# and ASP.NET 2.0
